Nextracker’s Solar Dream Team with Marco Miller as the Chief Operating Officer

Shug Speaks with marco Miller

20 years ago today, Marco Miller started working at a small PV startup in Berkeley. Three years later, Marco would make solar history by project managing the world’s first 10 MW plant (Bavaria Solar1, in background).
Today, we at Nextracker Inc. are delighted to promote Marco to Chief Operating Officer. Marco was a Nextracker cofounder, together with Marco Garcia (to his immediate left in photo), Alexander Au, Mike Mehawich, and Tyroan Hardy (who rejoined NX this week as Chief Customer Success Officer).

It took us one year to complete Bavaria1 in 2004: our first tracker in snow, our first 1000V system, the first 1 MW containerized inverter… Marco delivered the same professionalism then as he continues to today, serving customers for two decades. The project was completed (during Christmas in Germany) on schedule and over-performed. Today Nextracker manufactures 10 MW by breakfast, another by lunch, more by dinner – every day. Costs have dropped from $6000/MW (’04 $!) to a tenth of that now.

We are proud of our technology and projects but especially cherish the functional culture, high-performing team, and trusted relationships we have built while transforming the world’s largest industry from brown to renewable power.
