Solar, Wind Tax Credit Extensions are Boosting Clean Energy Industries

Belated congratulations and THANK YOU to Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) for successfully working with Congress for a two-year extension of the Solar Investment Tax Credit at last year’s 26% value, passed in December’s spending bill. Rough math – this is directly worth over $1B to the US solar project ecosystem. SEIA got this done by strategically sponsoring analysis with Wood Mackenzie Power & Renewables calculating benefits to jobs, economy, and environment, and then holding over 150 meetings with congressional aides and Representatives.

The ITC extension will benefit all segmentations: residential, commercial, and utility-scale markets. The 26% ITC compliments other renewable policy tailwinds expected in the Biden Administration.

Additional exciting policy development is that the wind association, AWEA, has rebranded American Clean Power Association (ACP) with a focus on large-scale renewable advocacy for wind AND solar.

SEIA and ACP are run by Abby Hopper and Heather Zichal, both very effective female clean energy leaders. Nextracker Inc. will be supporting both organizations, and we encourage all industry participants to engage.
